Luke's First Halloween

It was only natural that our two week old little pumpkin was a pumpkin for Halloween!

Jack was into his Toy Story kick and decided he wanted to be Woody for Halloween!

And Jack just loved hugging his pumpkin brother!

Big Brother Jack!

Jack was so excited to become a big brother.

The moment when my mom brought in Jack to meet Lucas was single-handedly one of my favorite life moments! I missed Jack so much and I was so excited to hug them both at the same time! Here is that moment captured!

Lucas Henry Ryan

Lucas Henry Ryan joined our family on October 11, 2010. How I wanted a 10-10-10 baby, but he was a day late! Luckily he was actually about 4 days early because Mama had another not-so-fun pregnancy! His entry into the world was a bit hairy--because he was so big--he got stuck! The pictures show just how exciting his entry was!

Our little prize fighter came out quite bruised!

Lucas weighed in at 9 lbs, 12 oz, 21 1/4 inches! BIG BOY! Welcome our sweet baby boy #2!

Giving this another shot....

I read so many people's blogs. I love the format of archiving one's lives, so we'll give it another shot! A lot has happened since January of 2010. Namely another IVF producing another sweet baby boy---Lucas Henry Ryan! (10-11-10)

Jack's 1st Trip to the Dentist

Jack went to the dentist for the first time on January 14, 2010. He was just a month and a half shy of being three. I hemmed and hawed for a long time about when to take him for his first visit. All the stuff I read and the recommendation from my dentist ranged anywhere from when the first tooth popped in to 3 years old. I'm certain I made the correct decision in waiting until now!

We decided to take him to a dentist who specializes in children rather than taking him to our own dentist. That, too, was a good choice! The philosophy of Dr. Mensing is spot on for young children, albeit a bit expensive! Jack's first visit entailed a tour of the dentist office and of all the cool dental "toys." It also included a long sit in the dental chair with some fancy stuffed puppets with full sets of teeth. He got to brush, floss, and count their teeth. He had a blast!

After he got comfortable with the dentist office and chair, the dentist, Dr. Mensing came in. She was just lovely. She was just as gentle with him as the hygienist was. She told him everything she was doing (like counting his teeth, shining the light, etc). And counting teeth was where it stopped! The next visit is where he'll actually get his teeth cleaned! That's February 9th! Stay tuned...
