This December we saw three Santas. Jack was a little concerned about why they all looked different and which one was real. We explained that the REAL Santa sends all these other Santas to do his preliminary work so he can rest up for his big night. All the helper Santas then report back to the REAL one!
Our Rochester mall has an amazing Santa. He looks so real and makes for great pictures! Both boys have had their pictures taken with him every year!
For the third year, we went to "Breakfast with Santa" at the school I teach at. Each December the Century student body raises money for Bear Creek Services and this has become a nice fundraiser for that cause. There are little activities for the kids to do and they get to sit on Santa's lap...again!
We tried a new "tradition" this year and that was watching Santa arrive on top of the Old City Hall in downtown Rochester. The Rochester Fire Department rescues him and then he and Mrs. Claus head down to the Galleria to greet little kids! We just watched the fire department rescue him. It was actually a lovely Saturday afternoon. Good weather.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!
Jack has sat on 3 different Santas' laps this Christmas season. (The mall--and man does that Santa look real--Hyvee and Breakfast with Santa at Century) He's getting a little confused. He wants to know which one is the REAL one! I've spun the story that the REAL Santa is really in the north pole resting up for his big journey on Christmas Eve. He sends his helper Santas out to hear what the little boys and girls want for Christmas and then they report back to him, sort of like Elfie. Jack wants to believe every Santa is real, but logically he's figuring it out that that's a bit impossible!
We took the boys to see Santa at the mall. They're cracking down on pictures, so this was the lousey picture we got. They ended up conning me into buy the professional one. I haven't scanned it into the computer yet. The boys looked so cute in their "ON THE NICE LIST" shirts! As predicted, Luke screamed bloody murder when I left him on Santa's lap.

Family Christmas Traditions
A few years before Jack was born, Jay and I decided that we wanted to start some "fun" Christmas traditions that our future children would like. One of those traditions was making homemade pizza!
A new tradition we just started this year was new jammies for the whole family!
Family present time!
Getting ready for Santa!
Santa Came!!!
Lucas was still sleeping, and Jack could not wait to open Santa gifts, so we let him have at it. Lucas was only two months afterall!
